An article at Space.com is getting a great deal of interest on the internet lately. Astronomers are hearing a cosmic sound that is six times louder than anticipated. I don’t know about you but when I think of the universe I prefer old and boring over “new and interesting.” “New and interesting” may be good when talking about clothing styles and marketing. It may not be so good when referring to the cosmos and things we don’t understand that could open up a giant can of galactic whoop ass on us.
Space is typically thought of as a very quiet place. But one team of astronomers has found a strange cosmic noise that booms six times louder than expected. The roar is from the distant cosmos. Nobody knows what causes it. There is “something new and interesting going on in the universe,” said Alan Kogut of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md.
It all starts with a sound, you never know…
Here is a bonus video that describes what it feels like to die in a black hole by astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson. Enjoy!

Maybe this cosmic sound is going to reach the earth and just bitch slap her in to a different orbit. I don’t know Curt, there are things that man will never understand and maybe this is one of them. I must admit that you have peeked my interest in this subject and I will now be looking into it futher. I will be interested to see what you readership thinks of this one.
