"Gratitude is the sign of noble souls." – AesopArchive for December 21, 2008
Four years from today will the world end on December 21, 2012?
I will remove the suspense. The answer is no. Our world will not be let off that easy. Four years from today though is the date that is getting much focus as a possible end date, December 21, 2012. There are a variety of theories but basically it has to do with the Mayan calendar that ends on that date and will supposedly produce tectonic shifts that will flood the earth.

The funniest thing about the December 21, 2012 web site is that every doomsday voice has come out of the woodwork to morph their beliefs into this date as the end.
It is turning into a real marketing machine and millions of dollars will be made. A big budget disaster flick is in the works, here is the teaser trailer. (Surf’s up for this old dude!)
My problem with the whole Mayan calendar based prediction is basically the world is done because their calendar runs out. With our calendar we just turn the page and start over. Why wouldn’t the Mayan calendar just start over on that date? No big deal, right?
As a kid I used to be totally freaked out by the Nostradamus shows on TV, especially when Orson Welles was telling the story. Here is a clip from one of those shows, remember how chilling this voice was?
Here was Orson Welles drunk struggling to make a commercial. While this wasn’t a sign of the end of the world, it was definitely a sign of something!
